Skeleton
Tarren have a very dense, canine-like, bone structure which is part of the cause for their extreme weight. The spikes on their backs re connected to the spine by a spongy bone that stretches when the spine bends. It's a very tough material and nearly impossible to break. The horns grow directly from the skull and are made of Ivory. There are nerve endings in the horn, Tarren with longer horns have been known to break them off which can be extremely painful and can be fatal if it becomes infected or if blood from the wound does not clot. Horns do not grow back and are fully grown when Tarren are only a year old.
Muscle
Tarren are almost completely covered in muscle and have very little fat. Tarren usually develop a layer of fat when living in colder climates or during colder seasons, but are mostly protected by their thick fur. Even though Tarren are very strong they are not great swimmers, with their heavy bones, dense muscle and thick fur, swimming becomes easily exhausting. Their muscle is built for force and power, the majority of their prey are bigger than them and need to be taken down quickly. The muscle surrounding their tails allows them to move and bend freely, much like a cats.
Skin
Tarren have a lot of lose squishy skin, especially around their face and back. The color of the skin can very depending on what color the coat is. Tarren with dark coats will have lighter skin and those with lighter coats will have darker skin. Tarren with Nero coat colors have a shiny or glittery type skin. Hairless Tarren have a thin peach-fuzz covering their whole bodies but have no protection from the ailments. There is a disease Tarren can catch, similar to mange, that causes, sores, thick scabby skin, and hair loss in patches. This will eventually kill them if not treated.
Size
Tarren height is measured from the ground to their shoulder. The shortest Tarren recorded was minimum of 3 feet (91.5 cm) and the tallest Tarren recorded was a maximum of 6 feet (183 cm).
Tarren length is measured from their shoulder to their rump. The minimum length recorded was 3 feet 2 inches (96.5 cm) and the maximum length recorded was 6 feet 5 inches (195.5 cm). They are always between 2-5 inches longer than their Height.
Tarren tails are measured separately because of their vast difference in length. There is no definite measurement for their tails but are usually double the size of their length. Minimum 6 feet 4 inches (193 cm) Maximum 12 feet 10 inches (391 cm)
